Leyha+Aly: Whimsical Outdoor Maternity
I am so excited to post this session! About two weeks ago, a friend from church came by my day job and asked me about doing a mother daughter session for her granddaughter and great granddaughter, and I was all ears! I gave her some info and got a call from her granddaugther not long after.
We played some phone tag on the 4th of July, and finally got to talk that afternoon!I began talking with Leyha about her session, and she began describing to me what she and her daughter were going to wear, and I was immediately so excited! We went on talking a bit, and then she told me it was going to be a maternity session and that she was 8 months pregnant- which made my little photographer heart flutter. I'm a sucker for all things baby! <3 I had also been wanting to do a session like this for a while! Leyha described her vision for the session to me, saying she wanted it to be earthy and natural, using the scenery around them as the only props. They were going to wear long white dresses and flowers in their hair. I was so okay with that and, the thought of a mother-daughter maternity session in the woods was just making me so excited!! Ideas started swarming in my head, and I couldn't wait for the next Friday to get here already!!
Friday finally arrived, the day of the session, and I looked outside to see a little dreary sky. My heart dropped a little, but at least it wasn't raining! Then, I got a text from Leyha saying "Praying the rain holds off." As I read that text, I saw the rain pouring outside! I was so sad, but Leyha and I prayed for it to get sunny and beautiful again for our session! They were going back to Georgia the next day, so we had no choice but to have it then- and they had already gotten their hair and flowers done! 6:00 rolled around, and the clouds opened up and the sun shone through! Thank the Lord! The ground was a little wet, but it was so pretty, and I believe it worked to our advantage because it cooled it down a little outside! As the session went on, these two ladies were SO fun and were willing to do anything to get a good shot- even sitting in a cold creek! <3

Leyha, I hope I made your vision come to life!! Thanks for reading, sweet friends! Tell me what you think by commenting below! <3
